Tailored Brands: Enhancing the online shopping experience

The Egen team helped us implement a Google Dataflow Integration framework to establish seamless integration with our e-commerce, order management and merchandising systems to handle millions of messages in almost real time. From the architecture, design and implementation phase, you guys did an amazing job in executing the project and providing post-live support. Thanks for everything!
Tailored Brands is a major retailer that aims to help people love the way they look and feel for their most important moments by delivering personalized products and services through a network of stores and e-commerce sites. Its omnichannel network of brands includes Men’s Wearhouse, Jos. A. Bank, Moores, and K&G Fashion Superstore.
When Tailored Brands decided to modernize and move its mission-critical, real-time systems to the cloud, it turned to the experts at Egen for guidance. Our ongoing work together is creating an enhanced shopping experience with compelling products and world-class service without missing a beat while systems move from on-premises to the cloud.
Tailored Brands first came to us with an entirely on-premises data integration system that syncs the data between multiple subsystems. These subsystems need to be synced continuously, and they handle essential business functions from supply chain and inventory management to retail and e-commerce. We are helping Tailored Brands move applications to the cloud in a staged manner along with building data pipelines and new applications in the cloud. Tailored Brands has a five-year roadmap for moving all of these applications to the cloud, and with our support it is on track at the three-year mark of that journey.
By moving to the cloud, Tailored Brands is achieving better performance, agility, and scalability than with on-premises systems. This move allows the company to reduce costs, too, since it can quickly scale its systems up and down in the cloud as needed to meet changes in retail demand. In the cloud, Tailored Brands is only charged for what is used, and can avoid paying for on-premises systems that are most costly and take much more time and effort to scale.
This scalability means Tailored Brands can meet peak demand, even during the busy holiday shopping season. Our first release in 2021 for the retailer handled approximately 46 million messages related to orders without any issues.
To unlock e-commerce order fulfillment at scale, we have also collaborated with Tailored Brands on creating better data integration to improve functions such as inventory management. It was a challenge for the retailer to gather and integrate data from its fulfillment centers across the U.S. and Canada, multiple physical stores, and e-commerce applications.
We synchronized all of the order management backend systems using Google Cloud Platform. This is just one of more than 100 data pipelines we have worked on so far for the retailer. With better data insights, Tailored Brands now has more efficient distribution of inventory and a unified view of its stock, so it can quickly fulfill orders for its customers.
We are excited to continue working with this leading retailer to integrate data and insights, while reducing costs and improving performance, agility, and scalability in the cloud.
